Responsibility backed by results: our films tested by Swiss laboratory SQTS

We care about the impact of our manufacturing. Our commitment to environmental responsibility includes verifying the materials we supply to our customers. In response to the new European PPWR requirements, we commissioned Swiss laboratory SQTS – Swiss Quality Testing Services to test samples of our transparent and white lacquered films.

EU Regulation 2025/40, known as the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), introduces rules for packaging and packaging waste. Its requirements are being phased in and address areas including packaging waste reduction, recyclability and the presence of substances of concern. For food-contact packaging, it also restricts PFAS, a group of substances that are highly persistent in the environment.

What did the laboratory tests show?

The laboratory measured the total fluorine content of both samples, which serves as a screening indicator when assessing PFAS. The transparent lacquered film contained 10 mg/kg, while the white lacquered film contained 7.8 mg/kg. Both results are well below the 50 mg/kg reference value stated in the reports for assessment under the PPWR.

Based on the analysis performed and the available documentation, the laboratory assessed the results for both samples as compliant with EU Regulation 2025/40 within the scope of the assessment.

Sharing our results openly

The complete test reports, dated 1 September 2026, are available to download. Our customers can review the results and the scope of the testing directly.

We believe that trust is built through concrete action and verifiable information. Laboratory testing of our materials is one such step, reflecting our responsibility to our customers and the world around us.
